AND I DON'T EVEN READ WHAT THE PAPERS GOT TO SAY ABOUT ME
OH NO I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY TAKE IT SO SERIOUS, SERIOUSLY
Shopping was a universal cure to every sickness any woman could ever have. At least, that was the logic that Joey's mother had passed on to her. The girl sat with her sunglasses perched on her head. She was sitting on a bench outside some pop-blaring, sissy-attracting pink palace with a frown on her face. For the first few hours of her shopping spree she'd been full of pep. Now, she sat there with at least seven large shopping bags filled with clothes and shoes and all she could think about was how boring the day had turned out to be. A groan passed through her as another small, pint-sized teeny bobber started toward her. The girl turned away, looking like she was scared out of her wits of the teenage shopper.
The teen stared around the shopping district, hoping desperately something would catch her eye. Nothing seemed any more interesting than paint drying. A smile creeped on her face as a couple hot guys walked by, but it disappeared when she saw their girlfriends following them. "Hell would be more entertaining than this place", she whispered out loud. Joe leaned on her elbow and placed her chin in her palm. She had come here to have fun, not sit around on a bench waiting for the impossible. If she believed in God, she would be praying to him in hopes that he'd relieve her of her boredom. Selfishness wasn't a sin, was it?
This couldn't be the way she spent her day though. Joey stood up and stepped away from the bench, swinging her shopping bag in her hand as she walked up to one of the food stalls. Getting herself a bottle of spring water, she set off toward the shops, looking for one that wouldn't have anything that she would normally buy. That left her walking into the store she had been seated in front of previously. On a normal day, she would never ever step foot in a store that was so pink, but beggers can't be choosers when they're bored. The teen grimaced but forced herself to walk past the open glass doors. A frown took hold on her mouth as little girls giggled and pointed at her. That was exactly how she had been when she was a kid.
This store was so not her style, but she put that aside for the moment as she walked through the brightly lit room. A prima Madonna stared at her from behind the cash register, a look of what seemed to be astonishment. 'Don't worry, love, I'm not a stray and I can pay for it if I wreck it.' Those were the thoughts that ran through the teen girl's head as she made her way for the plaid section. At least there was something that she liked. The shirts and the camisoles were of brightly colored plaid, and they had no traces of stitching what so ever. From all the experience she had from shopping with her mother, they were of great quality.
Joey pulled one of the tags away from the shirt, peeking at the price. A chuckle came from her lips as she saw the extreme price. Great quality always came with a price, and that meant they were never cheap. The cashier came up next to her, a friendly smile on her lips but a glare in her eyes. "Is the price too much for you, honey?” she asked with a mockingly sweet voice. The teen chuckled louder at her joke, and shook her head, knowing only too well her family could buy out the entire company if they wished. The cashier seemed to get even angrier when she laughed, and that only made the whole thing funnier. The teen dropped the tag, gave the older woman a glare of her own and made her way out of the store all the while ignoring the small twits who were still laughing at her.
Since there was no reason in sticking around the pink palace behind her, she head for the food court with quick steps. Hunger had quickly replaced her hate and now she was famished. Joey got herself a slice of pizza and a large Coke and found herself a quiet bench to eat at. Even though she was always the outgoing type, she never liked to sit near the elderly people that swarmed the shopping centre in the early hours. They were all so wrinkling and they seemed to just scream 'You'll be just like us one day!' The thought cause a shiver to run through the girl as she took her first bite. Hopefully, someone would show up and help her get rid of her boredom.
